Progress report

On the first day I watched the beginning webinar for The Challenge.  This is the only thing I've gotten done so far.  I need to get moving in this area to continue to make progress.  Tomorrow I will get through at least a few of the Pre-Challenge training materials.

Day 2

Today was much more of a struggle than yesterday.  I woke up with the most massive headache ever complete with severe nausea   - caused by the lack of caffeine I'm sure.  I gave in a took one Excedrin, which has caffeine - but I figured it was better than Mtn Dew, which was the other caffeine readily available.

I also had a major lack of energy all day to go with the headache that was dulled but still there.  I decided that I need to go off the caffeine more slowly.  I bought a 20oz Diet Dr Pepper - which has caffeine but no carbs.  I only drank about 1/3 of it, and will probably drink the rest tomorrow.  If I can keep it to a small amount of caffeine, and only the 0 carb variety,  I will be satisfied with that  - for now.

Breakfast:
1 hard boiled egg (0)
1 slice of cheese (1)
Lunch:
Stir fried veggies and beef (5)
Dinner:
Salad with lettuce, broccoli, hard boiled egg, cheese, and 2 T Thousand Island Dressing (10)

Total Carbs: 16
Caffeine: A little
Water: 48 (but I plan 8 more before bed to get to my goal of 56)

Still a good day overall.

Day 1

Day one is pretty much done.  How did I do today??
Breakfast - eggs with ham and cheese - 4 carbs
Lunch - 1 small serving beef and stir fried veggies - 10 carbs
Dinner - I hamburger Patty with cheese on top, with Ketchup and mustard - 6
Snacks - 2 slices of cheese and several pieces of Pepperoni - 2 carbs
Total = 22 net Carbs!
Water = 56 ounces
No Caffeine!
I'm calling it a win overall.  Now I'm taking me and my caffeine headache to bed.

Weigh In

Just dropped in for a quick post before I forget the number for my start -- Starting weight: 107.2....No caffeine yet today, but the craving is fierce.

Mental Goal

Goal:  To improve my mental health through changing my "mind talk" and attitude.

The Specifics:
I have always believed attitude and outlook are huge components of life.  We can not control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to what happens to us.  For the last few years my attitude has been very negative, and so I have brought negative to me.  This year I will focus on the positive things in my life, because there are MANY, and the positive things that happen to me.  This blog will help me to do this because I will post on a regular basis about the positive in my life.

I am also reading and absorbing Think and Grow Rich.   This is one of the greatest and most famous self help books of all time.  I will read a chapter every day or few days and report on what I have taken from the chapter.

I have read the forward and first chapter already, and have gotten a wonderful quote: "I am the master of my Fate, I am the captain of my soul!

Financial Goal

The Goal:
I will be making at least $2000 a month by June 1st.

The specifics:
I intend to do this through internet marketing and other online ventures. I will be starting off a new website by working my way through The Challenge.  I have worked with Ed Dale's challenges before with ok results.  The website I created during the 30 day challenge is still up, and still making money (although not very much).

I will be improving and expanding on the two sites I currently have running: Indoor Bonsai Tree, and Using Natural Remedies.  I will do this through writing more blog posts and working to get more backlinks for them.  At least I think this is what I will do.  I need to do more research to make sure nothing has changed in how to increase your Google rankings on websites these days.

I will also research other options on how to best make a living and a presence online most effectively.  More on this to come once I determine what needs to be done.

Weight Loss Goal

The goal:
I will lose a minimum of 30 pounds through diet and exercise.  I am currently at around 108 pounds.  I want to be 75 -80 pounds which is my idea weight according to this site: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm

Eating specifics:
The method I will use for the weight loss is a combination of a low carb diet, and exercise.  I am not following any specific weight loss program or plan.  I just plan to change my eating habits to reflect no more than 20 net carbs per day as Lynn Terry discusses on her website: Low Carb Traveler.
A big part of this plan involves me giving up Mtn Dew, which I love and drink several cans of each day, and replacing that with at least half my body weight in water per day.  I got the half your body weight thing from a website I was reading, if I find it again, I'll link it. I currently drink almost no water.
The second hurdle is that I LOVE carbs: potatoes, pasta, bread, all of it.  Giving these up will be difficult, but if it makes me look and feel better, it will be worth it.

Exercise specifics:
I am setting my goal at 30-45 minutes of exercise 3 times a week, but I am going to try for 6 times a week.  3 times a week walking in the local mall, 3 times a week on Wii Fit.

I will give a weigh in at the start of my diet (Tuesday 1/3/12) and once a week after that.  I will post daily reporting on my food and exercise since the previous post.
